Efficiently and Safely Upgrading Your Vindicator

As of November 15th, all Vindicator pilots are required to have a Faction Webifier (True Sansha's) or an alternative with equal or greater web range. To compensate for the velocity bonus loss, all Vindicator pilots should conciser training their Minmatar Battleship skill to level 4 ASAP, and level 5 when possible.

While officer webs are acceptable on Vindicators, THEY ARE NOT Covered by SRP!

This is a comprehensive guide to upgrading from our basic Vindicator or smiliar to the advanced Vindicator fit.

We understand that not everyone can invest heavily in their ship fits at the start of their incursion career, however upgrading your fit offers many rewards including; higher DPS for more isk per hour, less capacitor issues, and most importantly safer by upgrading your tank.

Basic Steps

You should use a faction web as a Vindicator for increased range and effectiveness. Because of the change to fleet boosting mechanics, we will be loosing our web range bonus. As such all pilots should train Minmitar Battleship to level four or five. True Sansha's Webifier or a web with a greater range is required. Remember officer webs ARE NOT covered by SRP.

True Sansha Stasis Webifier

  • Activation Cost: 5 GJ
  • Optimal range (After on grid boosting patch) 15km
  • Maximum Velocity Bonus (Before Skills) -55%

The maximum velocity bonus is improved by your Minmatar Battleship skill and will be hugely effective at Level IV/V.

Once you have a faction web, you should upgrade your microwarp drive. We recommend the Core X-Type 500MN Microwarpdrive, as it is one of the best. Although at first glance this looks very simliar to other prop mods available, it can give you an extra 60 seconds of capactior life to a cap hungry Vindicator

Switching the Tank

The switch from basic to advanced, pay special attention here!

The tank on your Vindicator is the most important upgrade you can make. If done incorrectly it could prevent you from being invited to fleet.

Step 1 can be done by itself, however, the 2-5 must be completed at the same time. If you cannot afford faction modules in steps 4 & 5, T2 modules are accepted but should be upgraded as soon as possible.

  1. Get a single Pith B or Pith A (depending on how much you choose to spend originally we recommend getting the Pithum B-Type Adaptive Invulnerability Field. It is cheaper and is the minimum required invul for the advanced Vindicator fit.
  2. Get a second Pith B or Pith A. When this is done you need to remove your Pithum C-Type EM Ward Amplifier and all of your rigs.
  3. Add one of each of the following rigs:
    • Large Anti-EM Screen Reinforcer I
    • Large Hybrid Burst Aerator II
    • You are now flying with the advanced tank.
  4. Fill your empty mid slot that is empty with a single Shadow Serpentis Tracking Computer
  5. Remove your two Tracking Enhancer IIs and replace them with two Federation Navy Drone Damage Amplifiers

Bling for Joy, Bling for Goodness!

At this stage you are considered an advanced tank Vindicator, you do more damage than you used to, but there is still more improvements you should make.

  • Replace any T2 damage and tracking modules with faction, they preform better, make you look more impressive and earn you better isk/hr.
  • If you have Pith B invuls, you should also aim to get Pith As as fast as possible, they are very expensive but if you take full aggro they can save your life.

Final Things to work on.

While T1 blasters are acceptable, please work towards T2 guns as soon as possible. Please note any upgrades beyond this point in the fit are at your discretion we DO NOT however cover officer mods in our SRP program. For more information on acceptable drone load outs please click here.
